What is the Department of Veteran's Affairs (DVA)?
DVA is a department of the Australian Government that provides support, services and information for people who have served in defence of our nation, and their families. This includes veterans and their dependants, serving and former serving Australian Defence Force members, war widowers, Australian British Nuclear Tests participants, members of the Australian Federal Police, and students, teachers and historians.

Our podiatrists treat DVA clients if they hold either a DVA Gold Card or DVA White Card.

DVA requires prior approval for some items like diabetic assessments and orthotics.
We are able to treat DVA clients in any of our clinics, or through our home visit services. For those looking for in-home treatment, we can offer complete podiatry care, orthotics and footwear.
What you need to know
What we need from you
In order to see a podiatrist, you must get a DVA D904 referral from your GP, made out to Advance Foot Clinic.
This referral will last for 12 months or a maximum of 12 visits, which ever comes first.
How long does it take
For an initial consultation allow 30-40 minutes.
Before your appointment
When making your appointment, let our support staff know you are a DVA client and your main foot concerns. Bring your DVA card and your D904 referral to your appointment.
During your appointment
Your initial consult will include an assessment where your podiatrist will determine your course of treatment, beginning immediately.
What are the costs involved?
This will depend on the service you require and what card you hold. There is usually no out of pocket costs for DVA gold card clients, but please discuss this with your podiatrist at your initial appointment. For more information on what your card entitles you to, please contact DVA.
